As the mobile industry booms, automakers have begun to see the benefits of bringing apps into the car. Yet it still isn’t clear whether a proprietary automotive app store would be more lucrative than third party apps.
Renault boldly launched the first automotive app store and learnt a thing or two along the way. We spoke to Patrick Hoffstetter, Chief Digital Officer, Renault Digital Lab, to understand the benefits it can bring such as how automotive app stores can still support external developers.
