Daimler Group visits TTIA

 

Daimler AG is one of the world's leading premium car manufacturer and the largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles. Headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, it is known for its high-end luxury cars, vans, trucks and buses. A large number of lines, a big giant for the German automotive industry. In the face of the transformation of the digital era, Daimler's future strategy is developing towards CASE (Connectivity, Autonomous, Shared & Service, Electric). According to the business, it is divided into Mercedes-Benz AG (cars and vans business), Daimler Truck AG (Truck and bus) and Daimler Mobility AG (financial and mobility services). Daimler Mobility plays a key role in transforming the group from a vehicle manufacturer to a mobility service provider.

 

Daimler has invested in the future of mobility and are a pioneer in the realm of innovative mobility services. With smartphone based mobility services, they optimize the use of existing transportation infrastructure and develop flexible and ecofriendly mobility solutions of the future. Examples of their mobility offerings include the car sharing service share now, formerly called car2go, an important pillar within the Daimler mobility strategy. The world's leading provider of free-floating car sharing now operates in 26 locations in eight countries on three continents. Today, more than 3 million customers can access the fleet of 14,000 vehicles of the smart and Mercedes-Benz brands.

 

Mr. David Goh, General Manager of Daimler Mobility Service Africa and Asia Pacific, visited TTIA at the end of August. In addition to sharing the Group's operational strategy, he also hopes to seek partners in MaaS services, blockchain and self-driving applications. The Secretary General of the Association, Mr. Zhou Zongbao, briefed the current situation of Taiwan's car networking industry and member manufacturers. The two sides exchanged views on future exchanges and substantive exchanges, and also welcomed interested members to pay attention to the website.
