Metropia, Inc. was founded in 2012 with its headquarters in Houston, Texas, USA, and established a branch in Taiwan in 2014. Metropia specializes in the transportation sector, possessing unique expertise particularly in Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) and interactive travel behavior management. The company is dedicated to providing consultancy services and integrated transportation solutions for both public and private sectors, assisting in the implementation, operation, and management of MaaS systems. Metropia's MaaS system is also closely integrated with Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) services in the United States, offering applications such as deceleration warnings for driving schools, wrong-way driving warnings on highways, and road user charges for toll roads.
Metropia's MaaS solutions have demonstrated exceptional effectiveness worldwide. Notably, the ConnectSmart project commissioned by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Houston won the 2023 AASHTO Innovation Award, highlighting our leadership in smart transportation. Additionally, the national MaaS open API platform of Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) has enabled innovative applications, accelerating the expansion of the transportation industry's economies of scale. Metropia continues to forge ahead; starting in 2024, we will begin the construction of the MaaS platform for the entire state of Virginia, USA, further advancing the development of smart transportation. Every step we take is aimed at creating a more convenient and efficient transportation environment, bringing infinite possibilities for the future of cities.
