1.3M Electric Vehicles were sold in China in 2020 – Projected for 51% increas
China has become a relatively rich market for Electric vehicles (EVs) in recent times, and companies like Tesla have pounced on the opportunity. China posted a record number of EVs sold within the country in 2020 despite the global downturn of the automotive industry due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to data presented by TradingPlatforms.com, 1.3M EVs were sold in China in 2020 – an increase of 8% YoY but is projected to grow by over 51% in 2021 to almost 2M.
