China to step up support in building battery swapping, hydrogen refueling facilities
Chinese policymaker formally highlights the efforts to strengthen the construction of such infrastructures as battery swapping and hydrogen refueling facilities, and accelerate the formation of the public-use charging networks covering highways, rural and urban areas mainly supported by fast-charging facilities, according to the Planning for the Development of the New Energy Automobile Industry recently approved by the State Council’s executive meetings.
Baidu fully opens Apollo Go Robotaxi service in Beijing
Baidu announced on October 11 that it has fully opened its Apollo Go Robotaxi service to ordinary users in Beijing. Consumers are able to enjoy self-driving taxi rides for free in dozens of pick-up spots in Beijing Economic Technological Development Area, Haidian District and Shunyi District with no appointment required.
Delhi govt exempts road tax on electric vehicles
The Delhi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced exempting of road tax on battery operated vehicles fulfilling what was promised as per the Delhi’s Electric Vehicle Policy 2020. The transport department issued a notification on road tax exemption of electric vehicles on the directions of Chief Minister.
