DiDi’s Autonomous JV granted business license for self-driving robotaxi
April 7, 2024 – DiDi Autonomous Driving, the self-driving technology arm of DiDi Global, announced Andi Technology Co., Ltd. , the equal joint venture with GAC Aion, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer focusing on innovation and technology, has obtained its business license, representing the registered JV in China for the mass production of fully self-driving electric L4 autonomous Robotaxi. 

 

 

LG Innotek leads LiDAR innovation for self-driving cars
The new LiDAR sensors by LG Innotek can detect objects up to 250 meters away, even in adverse weather conditions. This is a significant improvement over existing products, which could only detect objects up to 15 meters away in similar conditions. Moreover, the increased detection distance allows autonomous vehicles to have a longer braking distance, enabling them to drive at speeds of up to 90 kilometers per hour.

 

 

Allstate files patent for autonomous car repair system
Date: April 08, 2024. — Allstate Insurance Company has filed a patent application for an “Autonomous Car Repair” (ACR) system. The application, identified by the number USPTO 20240095686, was submitted by inventors Mark E. Faga and Paul Albert Sheetz.
