The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s biggest go-to platform for people who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, officially launched today, 7th January 2020 in Las Vegas, with a heavy prominence on emerging self-driving car technology from car makers and automotive electronics providers that make sensors, circuits and chips.

India. Maharashtra state government has postponed the date to set up panic buttons and vehicle tracking systems in public transport vehicles, taxis, buses, and school buses, up to December 2020. Earlier it was stated that it should be to set up by December 2019. The government has failed to appoint the service providers and set up the necessary infrastructure to track the vehicles.

South Korea to set guidelines for Level 3 autonomous vehicles
Starting July this year, automotive companies are expected to sell ‘Level 3’ autonomous vehicles in South Korea. In view of this, it has come up with safety standards self-driving vehicles, enabling automakers to sell a vehicle with basic Level 3 self-driving technology within the local market from as early as July.

Amazon Unveils its Plans for Automotive Industry at CES

At CES, Amazon announced integrations with several new automotive brands. Automobili Lamborghini is bringing Alexa to its Huracan Evo range, and Rivian will integrate Alexa into its first two all-electric vehicles, the R1S and R1T, as well as its upcoming fleet of 100,000 all-electric Amazon delivery vans. Both integrations will be available starting this year, alongside previously announced Alexa experiences rolling out from General Motors and Volkswagen. It is known that Alexa is already available in dozens of vehicles from automakers like Audi, BMW, Ford, and Toyota.
