Xpeng Motors Raises US$400 Million in Series C Capital Funding

Xpeng Motors recently raised Series C capital funding of US$400 million from a group of strategic and institutional investors. According to the company, corporate and individual investors, as well as renowned private equity firms participated in the funding. The company announced that Xiaomi Corporation, a technology and consumer electronics company will also join as a strategy investor.

 

 

ETAS and BlackBerry QNX to Jointly Develop Software Platform Based on AUTOSAR Adaptive

ETAS and BlackBerry QNX business will cooperate to jointly develop and market a safety-critical platform for use in next generation connected and autonomous vehicles. ETAS provides solutions for the development of embedded systems for the automotive industry and Blackberry is a security software and services company. The companies announced that they will combine their assets to develop and sell a software platform and associated tools for vehicle computers and domain controllers based on the AUTOSAR Adaptive standard.

UvA with TomTom Opens New Research Lab for Autonomous Driving

TomTom and the University of Amsterdam (UvA), recently launched a new public-private research lab. Atlas Lab will focus on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for developing advanced, highly accurate and safe high definition (HD) maps for self-driving vehicles. The lab is part of ICAI, the national Innovation Centre for AI, based in the Amsterdam Science Park.
