According to recent news, road transport ministry has prepared draft guidelines for car-sharing by private owners. Presently there are Apps which provide the car pooling facility like Quick Ride, Bla Bla, SRide, Ryde etc. RedBus too recently launched car pooling through- rPool.  

 

 

Tamil Nadu Electric Vehicle Policy 2019 released

To encourage the manufacture and use of electric vehicle in Tamil Nadu, the state government yesterday (17th Sept’19) released the Tamil Nadu Electric Vehicle police 2019. The policy extends sops to EV manufactures through GST refund and other benefits, which will help create a manufacturing base for electric vehicles in Tamil Nadu. While Tamil Nadu has production base of traditional automotive and location advantage for exporting vehicle, this may further add on to the existing vehicle manufacturing in the state. 

 

 

Hyundai and Kia invests in Ola Electric

Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors have invested in Ola Electric. Ola Electric is a subsidiary of India’s largest ride sharing company Ola. The investment is for a minority stake, but what makes this investment interesting is that it follows US $300 million which Hyundai recently invested in Ola Electric’s parent ride sharing company- Ola.
